An evening celebrating UR04 Adventures in Modernism: Thinking with Marshall BermanA scholar, advocate, and public intellectual, Berman gave generations a new way of thinking about what it means to be modern.

The program will include a panel discussion featuring Jennifer Corby, Jamie Aroosi, Joan Ockman, Ali Mirsepassi, and Marta Gutman; and a special screening of Henry Chalfant’s archival footage of Marshall Berman in his native Bronx.

An exhibition around UR05 Beyond the Square: Urbanism and the Arab Uprisings features artwork by Julie Mehretu and Tammam Azzam. Curated by editors Deen Sharp and Claire Panetta, the exhibition runs until November 11 at NYU Hagop Kevorkian Center for Middle Eastern Studies, 50 Washington Square South, New York, NY.
