An evening celebrating UR04 Adventures in Modernism: Thinking with Marshall Berman. A scholar, advocate, and public intellectual, Berman gave generations a new way of thinking about what it means to be modern.

The program will include a panel discussion featuring Jennifer Corby, Jamie Aroosi, Joan Ockman, Ali Mirsepassi, and Marta Gutman; and a special screening of Henry Chalfant’s archival footage of Marshall Berman in his native Bronx.

Addressing concerns of sociospatial injustice, CUNY faculty and students present two new publications: Zoned Out! Race, Displacement, and City Planning in New York City, edited by Tom Angotti and Sylvia Morse, and Beyond the Square: Urbanism and the Arab Uprisings, edited by Deen Sharp and Claire Panetta.
